When it comes to choosing ute service bodies or canopies it’s important to select the right type for your business. Which one is the right one for you? We look at the pros and cons of three popular ute canopy and service body combinations: full canopy, part canopy and tool module types.
What is a full canopy?
A full canopy is a fully-enclosed three door service body that is reliable, secure and sealed against the elements – giving your business the presentation it deserves. Your workforce will have a safe mobile workspace and the tools to get the job done, with a service body that delivers all-round access to tools of trade. HiDrive have dual cab ute canopies, extra cab ute canopies and single cab ute canopies for all makes, models and chassis variants
Suitable for: Most business types and services from display/sales vehicles through to heavy trades and service industries.
Pros: All contents are securely stored within the ute canopy, eliminating the need to cover or secure any items on an external tray area.
Cons: Larger items may not fit into a full canopy. If large items are part of your everyday work then a part canopy or a tool module may be more suitable.
What is a part canopy?
Part canopies are a serious mobile workspace solution, giving you the best of both worlds with a combined service body canopy and rear tray. This versatility means you can use the rear tray to deliver bulky items, and the enclosed canopy for tools of trade and a clean, dry workspace. HiDrive have dual cab part canopy service bodies, extra cab part canopy service bodies, and single cab part canopy service bodies for all makes, models and chassis variants
Suitable for: HVAC/Aircon, Plumbing, Civil, Heavy diesel and mechanical service companies.
Pros: Keeps important contents secure and safe while large or bulky items are able to sit on the rear tray section.
Cons: The clean, dry and secure storage area is reduced in size. Loads transported in the rear tray section have a legal requirement to be covered.
What is a tool module?
Tool module service bodies provide storage space in the centre aisle, with the option of a rear tray section. The centre aisle is ideal for longer items, while the integrated tool modules keep tools of trade clean, dry and secure inside. You can tailor your length of tool module and fit out, so you’re organised and ready to get the job done efficiently and safely every day.
Suitable for: Almost all service businesses and industries including HVAC/Aircon, Plumbing, Civil, Heavy diesel and mechanical service companies.
Pros: Provides storage for longer items in the centre aisle. Often with air compressor or generator installations. Centre aisle can be left open or with rear door or removable roof panel.
Cons: The clean, dry and secure storage area is reduced in size. Loads transported in the aisle or rear tray section have a legal requirement to be covered.
